                Looking Ahead


    Starting Thursday, Feb 8th - Explore the message and work of the Old Testament Prophets as messengers of God with instructions to care for others in need. "Prophets as God's Messengers for Social Justice" Bible Study with Pastor Dianne Wendt is starting Thursday, February 8th through Thursday, May 9th from 1pm to 2:30pm. Join Pastor Dianne from Lutheran Church of the Cross Sacramento at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sacramento, CA. The sessions will also be available on Zoom. See image below for more details.     Saturday, May 11 - This year we are doing something a little different for our Mother's Day celebration. We will be marching, rallying and then lunching for a cause! Saturday, May 11, 2024 we will gather at St. John's Lutheran Church at 9am then march to the state capitol for a non-violent rally in support of women & children's rights and peace. Following the rally we will head back to St. John's for lunch catered by Nash & Proper. Can't march, no problem, just meet us at the capitol for the rally and drive back to St. John's for lunch!

    Cost is $20 per person which includes morning goodies before the march and lunch.     Friday, June 28 - Church of the Cross and St. Luke's Lutheran Churches will be co-hosting with Sierra Pacific Synod Women of the ELCA "Courageous Conversations" to learn about St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cairo, Egypt and how they formed StARS to help refugees in the Middle East. Join us 6pm to 9pm for a light meal and conversation with Pr. Bekah Davis. Sign up by clicking on the image below.
