                Looking Ahead

September 7th is "God's Work, Our Hands" Sunday of Service. On this Sunday we will be assembling "Giveaway Bags" of food, water and some toiletry items for those who come to the church in need. We will put the bags together after church during our  Fellowship Hour. We are encouraging everyone to pick one item and purchase enough to make 10 bags. If you want to bring extras, we would welcome whatever you can provide. The extras will go to Blue Star Moms to put into care packages for the troops overseas. Click here for a list of items. The sign up sheet will be posted in the Social Hall. Contact Kevin if you can't sign up in person.

Sunday September 28 is our 3rd Quarter Congregational Meeting where we will review the Quarter 4 Budget and discuss the plans to proceed with worship and ministry at Church of the Cross. Make it a point to be there and contribute your ideas!

    Upcoming fundraisers--

The Queen's High Tea will be on Sept 20th from 11-2:00ish. It will take place at Julie Andrews' abode and all are welcome.

The Houseboat Progressive Party  will be after Church on Sunday, October 12th. This fun time will be In Walnut Grove @ Dagmar's Landing. Food, beverages of all kinds, community connections & water sports will all be available. There will also be some cool door prizes & parting gifts!

If you are interested in joining us for either of these and you have not already signed up, see Laura Christensen for more info.  A reminder that all of the money we raise from these two events goes straight to our Mission work!

At our semi-annual meeting, the congregation voted to approve up to $25,000 for rehab on the Parish House. Please look for ways you can add a little extra to your monthly or weekly giving, and mark it for "Building & Grounds" or "Parish House Rehab". We will also be looking at fundraisers. We have members of the congregation who will be doing some of the work themselves to help reduce the cost.

To make things easier - sign up for Vanco Electronic Giving - It's free - see Kevin Brown for Details!
